What makes Border Oak different?

We’re a family run business, specialising in self and custom build homes. Five decades of working with clients on a broad portfolio of bespoke projects has given us a huge depth of experience and knowledge that is impossible to replicate.

We are very proud of the brand we’ve create – based on craftsmanship, fairness and quality. We care passionately about our product and our clients, and hope this shows through the way we work. We are design and construction specialists, as both elements are crucial to a successful project.

We are forward looking whilst being rooted in tradition. We are early adopters of new ideas, materials and technologies where they can help, but never at the expense of our craftsmanship, quality and heritage.

Every Border Oak frame is made by hand (not machine), in our own workshops in rural Herefordshire, using carpentry methods passed down from medieval craftsmen. We use only the finest, most sustainable green oak, alongside other natural materials, to build homes that will last many lifetimes.

We offer a wide range of packages and services conceived to help all sorts of needs – including design, planning, procurement, quantity surveying, technical design, project management and full construction services. Our contracts are offered as a Fixed Price to provide reassurance and certainty, and our packages range from ‘supply only’ to a Full Build.
