We have a track record of building oak frame building spanning nearly half a century. Our expert teams have worked in the UK and round the world and we are delighted to offer self and custom builders an unrivalled variety of construction packages along with exceptionally high standards of service, design and workmanship.
Our construction packages range from the supply & erection of the oak frame and partner panel system, to a full ‘turnkey’, complete build contract.
We also have our own construction labour, as well as drawing on additional specialist trades, suppliers and prefered partners, to help take your project from concept to completion. Our in-house team of project managers, quantity surveyors, procurement team, finance department and support staff will ensure your project is delivered on time and to budget.
From design to build
As we have our own in-house teams, we can provide full Building Regulation and Construction drawings and documents and incorporate industry warranty compliance criteria as standard, working closely with Building Control Departments and your chosen warrenty provider throughout. We can handle all of this for you before during and post completion – liaising with the authorities, arranging site visits, providing documentation and certifications. As national specialists in green oak framing and SIPs construction (we are a Kingspan TEK Delivery Partner) we are able to offer added value.
For our Complete Construction packages our clients are able to obtain an NHBC warranty as Border Oak is an A1 rated Premium Member as we haven’t had a claim against our work.
Oak frames and SIPs
We have been using versions of our Structured Insulated infill panel (SIPs) for over 30 years. Made up of a complex, multi-layered system it is designed to ensure your house is water tight and exceptionally thermal, while allowing the oak frame to move naturally without compromise. This panel fits within the oak framing in a traditional exposed oak frame and is finished with lime render or brick slips externally, and internally the panel is plastered. Our unique weatherproofing system provides an effective solution to the natural shrinkage of the green oak frame.
We are the only company to have 40 years of successful application for our infill panel system and are the first to have full NHBC (National House Building Council) compliancy and TRADA (Timber Research And Development Association) approval.
We are also adept at using softwood framing systems and traditional brick and block methods on our buildings when appropriate.
All of our construction systems are Building Regulations and NHBC compliant, and due to our claim free record we have attained a Premium rating with the NHBC.
