Our Show Homes
We know how important it is to see what we do and experience a Border Oak building in real life.
We have two beautiful completed oak framed show houses that we make available for viewing – one is unoccupied and the other is our directors family home. The houses are very different in design, style and size, conceived to give our clients an idea of the variety of what can be achieved working with Border Oak, but both properties share our renowned quality of workmanship, attention to detail, craftsmanship and commitment to good design.

St. Michael’s Cottage
Based upon our Pearmain Cottage range and inspired by the Border Oak cottage that featured on Grand Designs in 2003 St. Michael’s Cottage was built on a brownfield site close to our HQ in Herefordshire. St. Micahel’s Cottage has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and spacious family areas. A Border Oak gazebo and garage are on site too.
Meadowmead
Winner of BEST Home in the Homebuilding and Renovating & Daily Telegraph Awards 2018
Meadowmead is an award winning, family home built in 2016 on a 6 acre plot on the edge of a Conservation Area village. These design is influenced by traditional barns found in the rural marches, but with a contemporary interpretation through the introduction of glass and vertical oak boarding. There is a large outbuilding with annex above next to Meadowmead.

New House Farm – our next adventure
We know that seeing what we do and gathering ideas is a crucial element of your custom build journey with us. We are incredibly proud of our homes and our services and want to share our love of sustainable oak framing with as many people as possible.
With this in mind John purchased a small farm not far from HQ during lock down with a vision to create a unique and inspiring customer experience.
His aim was twofold – to save & restore the traditional orchards and replace the tired farmhouse with a very special new building that celebrated all that vernacular design and build could offer.
Planning has now been secured and work will begin in Autumn 2025. We would love you to follow along!
