Outbuilding Construction Options
Most of our outbuildings, gazebos, potting sheds and ancillary garden structures have been designed and made as self assembly kits – ideal for competent DIYers and local builders. We have put considerable effort into how we make the structures to enable self assembly to ensure the buildings are cost effective for our clients but also useful to developers and custom builders. Border Oak can provide full construction services too if needed.
Some of the larger or more complex structures from our outbuilding range and many of the bespoke ancillary buildings may be best suited to professional erection. We are still happy to supply these more complex structures as a kit for your builder to erect and complete, and are happy to support your chosen builder and answer any questions.
We supply a lot of outbuildings and other oak structures to architects, housing developers and garden designers and fully appreciate that they often have their own construction teams working across a much wider project. We are happy to work alongside your chosen build team and dovetail into their schedules if needed. Our outbuilding team would be delighted to discuss your project in more detail and offer advice and guidance.

Designed for DIY
Our oak framed outbuildings are hand made by experienced carpenters and always test assembled in our workshops to ensure both quality and fit.
Our unique weatherboard panels are prefabricated in our workshops, to our design and high specification – and so simply require lifting and fitting into the oak frame, rather than each board having to be sorted, cut, levelled and nailed place on site. Pre fabrication not only saves time on site but upholds quality.
Our rafters are pre-cut with individual ‘birds mouth’ detail which sit perfectly on wall plates. The rafters are also marked to illustrate the position of the battens to make every stage as simple as possible. Nail holes are pre-drilled and we also supply a self assembly pack containing nails, fixings, oak pegs, gloves, goggles, hard hats, ratchet straps, teak oil and a special drill bit.
Complete Construction
We can also undertake a full ‘turnkey’ contract for you – using our own labour and with Border Oak project management. Complete Construction packages for our outbuildings can be quoted individually depending upon the work you would like us to complete, the complexity of the project and your location.
